To some, this property would have been seen as a challenge, even a problem. But these owners saw their dream home.

The land was sharply sloped, with bedrock protruding in various places. Rather than treating the rock as an expensive nuisance to be removed, we embraced it, designing the home in contour with the terrain. The result was a split-level home with 270° views, and a stunning canyon scene from every room.

The crawl space even features a protruding boulder that has since been named Dwayne (“The Rock”).

Listening to both the needs of the residents and the story of the land created something truly magical and symbiotic.
